Surrounded by loved ones, Betty Joyce Christensen, age 89, went to be with the Lord early
Saturday morning on October 2, 2021. She is dancing in Heaven with her beloved husband,
Carl Leonard Christensen.
Betty had a bigger than life personality. She was a bowling shark and is famously known in the
bowling community. She bowled on a league well into her 80’s and was an avid golfer, gardener,
and artist. If you asked what her favorite color was, she simply said all colors were beautiful.
Betty was a proud American who served her country as a WAC officer in the United States Army
and was honorably discharged in 1954.
From thereon, Betty and Carl went on to raise their beautiful family. Betty is survived by her
daughter Hazel A. (John) Kinshaw: granddaughters Jacqueline (Nathan) Smith and Erica
(Brian) Blumline: great grandsons Trance, Cade, and Levi: brother Jerry (Bonnie) Broughton:
and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
A graveside memorial service will be held for Betty on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 1:30 pm at Flushing Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Hank Messing.
