McCormick, Gerri Marie of Flushing, age 94, died Monday, November 9, 2015, in Utica. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Hope United Methodist Church, Flint. Rev. Carol Blair Bouse will officiate. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Wednesday at Rossell Funeral Home and the family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Columbus, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope United Methodist Church or Hurley Children's Miracle Network.
Gerri was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 6, 1921, the daughter of Russell and Gladys (Harrison) Peck. She married Richard C. McCormick in Columbus, Ohio on June 10, 1945. He preceded her in death in November of 1998. Gerri was a member of the Hurley Auxiliary, and an honorary member of the West Flint Optimist Club. She loved to crochet, read the paper, and visit with friends, especially talking on the phone. Gerri was a long time member at Central Methodist Church of Flint and Hope United Methodist Church of Flint.
Gerri is survived by her son, Richard (Sue) McCormick; grandchildren, Brian, Andrea, Angela; extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; and son, Robert. |
