Sally Ann Simpson

Born: 9/21/1943
Died: 10/1/2015
Age: 72
Community: Swartz Creek, MI

We are blessed to have shared in the life of Sally Ann Weaver Simpson (Lefler). Although it was much too short for us, we tearfully remember all the valuable lessons she has taught us. The most important one ¬- unconditional love. Love for a friend in need, a hurting child, a loving husband, and the stranger in need of a hug. She taught us to have compassion for others rather than judge them. She taught us that giving of our time and talents makes us whole. She encouraged us to find our passion. And, she supported us in everything we did. She was the kind of person that told you every day how much she loves you and how proud she is of you. She was amazing!

Living in Flint, most of her life and then settling in Swartz Creek, with her high school sweetheart, Duane Weaver she surrounded herself with the love of family¬—children, cousins, aunts, uncles and then her son and daughter-in-laws, her 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Later in life, along with her second husband and sailor, Robert Simpson, she enjoyed the waves of Lake Huron, in the summers, and spending time with a multitude of friends in North Ft. Meyers in the winters. She welcomed 4 more step children and several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren into her bountiful love. She led a life full of service to others—nurturing those in need as an EMT specialist, transporting kids to and from school as a bus driver, helping organize the Crim Road Race as a volunteer and sharing her faith as a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Now, it is time for her caring love and generosity to return to those she hasn’t seen in a long time, reuniting with her parents, Adlolfus “Bud” and Frances Lefler and her young grandson, Tyler Weaver. She left us in peace on Thursday, October 1, 2015 surrounded by those that have unconditional love for her. She leaves us behind but remaining in our hearts forever: husband, Robert Simpson, daughter Tammy Hunt and her husband John and grandchildren Melinda and Ryan; daughter Teresa Breed and her husband Joseph; son Kenneth Weaver and his wife Jennifer and grandchildren Brandon, Andrew and Hayden; and daughter Jennifer Kafando. She also leaves behind her step children, Leanne Carter and her husband Randal, Michael Simpson and his wife Monica, David Simpson and his wife Mary and Donald Simpson and his wife Shelley. Additionally, she leaves her love to many great-grandchildren, step grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her brother Jack Marshall and his wife Marie, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
