Karen Sue Boots, age 51 of Davison, passed away on May 16, 2021. Karen was a breast cancer survivor of 3 years and was recently battling Leukemia since October of 2020. She was born September 21, 1969, in Montrose, MI. She graduated from Hill-McCloy High School, class of 1987. She worked for McLaren Lapeer for 16 years as a CNA / Clerk Aide and was very dedicated and compassionate at her job. She loved to make her co-workers laugh. Karen was always there for everyone and anyone who needed her and was loved by everyone who met her.
Karen loved to travel, especially to Sault St. Marie and to Port Huron with her wife Kellie. They would travel there to watch the freighter ships come in. She and Kellie loved putting together model ships of freighters that they saw in their travels. She was a hard-working and loving mother of four and an even more loving grandma. She loved all her grandkids deeply and enjoyed spending time with family. Karen was loved and will be missed deeply by her family and by all who knew her.
Karen is survived by her wife of 6 years, Kellie Boots; her children, Amber (Fred) Woolley, Nicole Brown, Rachel (Travis) Ames, and Robert (Beau) Wooley; her grandchildren, Coltin, Callie, Bentlee, Sarah, Daisy, Carson, Ambree, Rillie, Mason, Jayden, and many more; her parents Melvin and Pamela Crawford; mother-in-law Carole Danielak; her brothers Melvin S. (Melissa) Crawford, Randy C. (Kim) Crawford, and Timothy W. (Lisa) Crawford; sisters Roni (Tim) Lane and Candee Bradow; sisters-in-law, Kristine Moses; brothers-in-law Tim (Ann) Boots and David (Gene) McCusker.
Karen was preceded in death by her grandparents Betty and Clare Herrick; niece Megan Crawford; son-in-law Matthew Brown; father-in-law Don Boots; cousin Jessica Harris.
A visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors- Capstick Chapel in Lapeer on Monday, May 24th from 3-8 p.m. Masks are still recommended and social distancing will be in place with 25 people in the funeral home at a time. Memorial donation to the family are appreciated.
