Kristina Marie Nave

Born: 2/28/1962
Died: 8/31/2026
Age: 64
Community: Davison, MI

Age 64, of Davison Michigan went home to the arms of Jesus on August 31, 2026. Krisie was a member and Deacon of Flint City Church. She lived her life to serve. A small list includes organizing the delivery of services for those afflicted with AIDS, founding Cans for Coats to raise funds to buy new coats for kids, and starting a summer lunch program for children from needy families. She was affectionately known as the “candy lady” at Carriage Town shelters in Flint – where Krisie often saw and met the unseen needs of the residents. Krisie believed that abundant life came through seizing the opportunities that were placed in front of her to serve.

Krisie was born on February 28, 1962 in Flint Michigan, the daughter of Gus and Florence (Fisher) Vandesteen. She moved to Seattle Washington, where she met her husband Greg Nave, on a blind date. They were engaged 29 days later and married on August 26, 1989. Together they grew in their faith, and they embarked on mission trips to Mexico, Belize, and South Africa. Krisie worked as a dental hygienist for 30 years, where she placed the care of her patients at the forefront, getting to know her patients on a personal level.

Krisie remained steadfast in her passion for service, even when confronted with the horrible realities of facing Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), a devastating rare neurodegenerative disease. She participated in numerous studies seeking treatments for MSA through Mayo Clinic, one of which has led to the first promising treatments for MSA.

She is survived by her husband, Greg; her daughter Karli of Whitmore Lake, Michigan, her son Jake and his wife McKenzie of Charlotte, Michigan, and her grandson Tucker John who kept her smiling as she battled MSA. She is also survived by four sisters: Denise (Dennis) Stevanus, Vicki (Joe) Franta, Michelle (Brian) Demonia, and Renee Charron. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Flo Vandesteen and her brother Eddie Vandesteen.
