PORN, Mary Catherine - Age 80, of Davison formerly of Swartz Creek, died Monday, August 6, 2018. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday August 11 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Avenue, Flint. Fr. Anthony Strouse celebrant. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes. Our temporary location at Hill Creek Church, 5363 Hill Road, Swartz Creek (Mundy Township), Friday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM where a rosary will be prayed Friday at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be 10AM Saturday until time of mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Mary C. Porn Memorial Fund, c/o to the family.
Mary was born May 4, 1938 in Flint, the daughter of George Holly and Elleta (Newcombe) Earle. She was a 1956 graduate of Flint Central High School and received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Michigan. She retired in 1995 from EDS after 12 years of service. Mary was a member of the Flint Central Alumni Association and the Flushing Moose Lodge.
Surviving are: her husband of 59 years, John; children, Patrick (Denise) Porn of Alger, Charles (Haley) Porn of Mattawan, and Jacqueline (Larry) Carrier of Davison; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer (Lance) Wildman of Swartz Creek, Christopher (Haley) Porn of North Carolina, Johnathan Carrier (Britany Rohm) of Davison, Angela (Mark) Eberline of Commerce Township, Sean Carrier of Davison, Colin Porn of Mattawan, and Garrett Porn of Mattawan; and 5 great granddaughters, Lilly, Everly, Jaylyn, Sophie, and Emerson and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jon-Miguel Porn; sisters, Gretchen Valley and Virginia O'Leary; and brother, George Earle. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
