James Paul Shemes, 56, of Lapeer, formerly of Grand Blanc and Flint, passed away peacefully at home on September 23, 2021.
Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation 1 p.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Celebration of life will be held at Tenacity Brewing of Flint directly after the service.
Jim was born in Flint on September 1, 1965.
He is survived by his wife Carey, sons Nicholas (Dianne), A.J.(Mercedes), Joshua, Tanner, and Sawyer Shemes, father Alan (Beverly) Shemes, brother Daniel Shemes, granddaughter Elliot, and grandson Leo. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Delories (DeeDee) Shemes, and special grandparents Eldon Bellows and Betty Shemes.
Jim enjoyed playing guitar, talking politics, and had a lifelong passion for baseball.
He was a flooring salesman at Skaffs in Flint for 18 years.
Jim will be forever loved and missed.
