PROSNIEWSKI, Janet Elizabeth - Of Flint, age 75, died Friday, August 28, 2026 at Harper Center-Detroit.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am, Friday September 4, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc,
Father Le Vodivodi officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Visitation 3-8pm Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed Thursday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 9am Friday at church until the time of the Mass.
Janet was born in Wyandotte, Michigan March 29, 1951, the daughter of the late William J Harmon and Isabel E Harmon (Duguay). On August 12, 1972, she married John Prosniewski at St. Joseph Church in Wyandotte MI. Janet was a second-grade teacher for over 20 years, most of them at Holy Family Catholic School and was also a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. Janet was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and the Detroit Tigers. She was a member of the Rosary Makers and Quilting Guild, as well as a leader of Divine Mercy Cenacle at Holy Family. Janet had a deep love of family and her faith. Family and faith were central to everything she did. She was the perfect wife, the best mother and grandmother. There was not a mean bone in her body. She never criticized or had a bad word for anyone. Janet was quiet and thoughtful and well-liked by everyone.
Surviving are husband of 54 years, John Prosniewski;
children, Jason (Elizabeth) Prosniewski, Julie (Kelly) Chisholm, Jarod Prosniewski;
grandchildren, her pride and joy, Paige Ringwelski and Quinn Parker-Prosniewski;
brothers, Tom (Barb) Harmon, Bill Harmon;
and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, William and Isabel Harmon and a brother David Harmon.
