Sherry Lynn Giacopelli, 64, of Burton, died Wednesday December 27, 2023 after a battle with ALS. She was born September 3, 1959 in Flint to parents Gerry Greer and Beverly (Cole) Greer. Sherry married James W. Giacopelli on September 18, 1998 in Lapeer.
Sherry worked 13 years for MSP Industries, where she made a lot of friends. Sherry enjoyed scrapbooking, baking and gardening. Christmas was a huge passion of Sherry’s, the family even says she probably held on, to live through Christmas. As well as ALL the traditions and decorations surrounding the holiday, even going to the Christmas tree farm together. Her greatest love in life, were her grandchildren. Sherry will be missed.
Sherry is survived by her husband of 25 years: Jim, children: Stacy (Mike) Sims, Shannon (Katy Schelble) Minton, step-son: Matthew (Cassie) Graham, grandchildren: Kobe, Joslynn, Mackenzie, Cadence, Charlotte, Grant, Harper and Wilder and a brother: Gerry Greer. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Amber Minton, siblings: Rodney Greer, Susan Greer, father: Gerry Greer and mother: Beverly Lukasavitz.
Her visitation will only be the hour prior to the funeral; 1:00-2:00pm Friday December 29, 2023 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Her funeral will conclude visitation, 2:00pm Friday (12/29/23) at Muirs, officiated by Pastor Drew Jolly. Cremation will follow services.
