CAMPBELL, Cecil – Of Flint, age 88 died, Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at his residence, with his loving family at his side.
Funeral service will be held at 12 noon Monday, May 6, 2019
at Genesee Road Church of God, G-4344 North Genesee Road, Flint, Reverend Bobby Parker and Bishop Bruce Badder co-officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mr. Campbell will be at the church from 11 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the church.
Cecil was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina on September 21, 1930, the son of William and Thelma (Costner) Campbell.
He was a member of Genesee Road Church of God; was a Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent, and loved God.
Cecil loved to winter in Florida.
He was an avid fisherman.
He was the greatest father ever.
Mr. Campbell was employed as body shop manager at Simms Chevrolet, retiring in 1993.
Surviving are children, Joan (Robert) Parker Sr.,
Deborah Campbell-Decker,
Kimberly Campbell-Khair and Amy (Brian) Bostwick;
very special friend, Freda Woolwine;
11 grandchildren;
19 great-grandchildren;
1 great-great-grandson;
sister, Betty “Lucille” Pittman;
brothers, Gerald Costner and Ronald Campbell;
many nieces and nephews; his special pet, Curlee.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Betty; second wife, Shirley; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Carol Thomas and brother, Ronnie Costner.
