DAOUST, Arthur James – of Flint, age 77, passed away November 6, 2015 at Genesee Care Center. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Ron Rayon officiating. Visitation will be 12-1 PM Sunday. Burial of cremated remains with Military Honors will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery at 2 PM, November 30, 2015. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Arthur was born in Alpena, MI on February 7, 1938, son of the late William and Isabelle (Mitton) Daoust. He married Ruth Jones on July 29, 1956. Arthur served in the U.S. Army in Okinawa, Japan from February 1956-February 1962. He retired from GM after 30 plus years of loyal service.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Ruth Daoust; children, Rhonda (Stephen) Wyczalek, Judi (John) McIlroy, Paula Daoust, James (Debi) Daoust; grandchildren, Jennifer, Matthew, Kimberly, Ashley, Bridgette, Clinton, Nicole, Bre, Selene; great-grandchildren, Cadence, Lilith, Zoey, Zaiden; siblings, Gloria Willington, William Daoust, Gwen (Hank) Bruske, Daniel Daoust, Thomas (Faye) Daoust, Charles (Emily) Daoust, Michael (Cheryl) Daoust. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Mary Rayon.
