JOHNSON, Richard Dale “Dick" - of Apache Junction, Arizona, age 71, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Friday, November 19, 2021 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. Inurnment, with Military Honors, immediately following the service at Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 10-11 AM Friday, November 19, 2021 at Allen Funeral Home.
Dick was born in Flint, MI on July 23, 1950, son of the late Raymond and Clara (Doty) Johnson. He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in Mt. Pleasant, MI, Class of 1968. Dick was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1970 and was stationed in Vietnam for 18 months as an MP. He married the love of his life, Jolene (Robinson) Johnson, on September 14, 1974. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2018. Dick retired from Buick. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. Dick and his wife, Jolene, loved to travel. Almost everyone he met became his friend. He was known for joking around.
Dick is survived by his daughter, Stacey (Greg) Christian; 2 sons, Wayne (Heidi Riel-Gaus) Johnson and Joe (Katie) McGinnis: 12 grandchildren; sister, Peggy Kimball; 2 sisters-in-law, Peggy Walker and Lorie (Paul) Mansfield; 2 brothers-in-law, Bill Stephenson and Randy Robinson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Dale Stephens, Steve (Debbie) Pariseau, Heather (Franz) Tucker and many other friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Clara Johnson; brother, Jim Johnson; 2 sisters, Sylvia Stephenson and Jackie Johnson; 2 brothers-in-law, Wally Kimball and George Walker; parents-in-law, Jack and Helen Robinson and nephew, Dan Stephenson.
