RUSHTON, Julie A. – of Clio, age 69, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Karen Williams officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 12PM until 8PM, and on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to The Sweetest Heart of Mary (SHM) Food Pantry.
Julie was born on January 24, 1956, to Carl and Nancy (Dingman) Rushton. She graduated from Clio High School with the class of 1974. Julie worked as a project assistant with Sorensen Gross Construction in Flint for over 20 years, retiring in 2024. Julie was a faithful member of Thetford Methodist Church and was active in Job’s Daughters – Bethel #33, where she served as Past Honor Queen. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, and trips to the casino. Most of all, Julie loved her family, and her nephews held a very special place in her heart - they truly meant the world to her.
Surviving are: Father, Carl Rushton; Sister, Barbara (Craig) Stephen; Sister in law, Joyce Rushton; Nephews: Brandon (Mara) Rushton, Blake Stephen, and Zach (Cassie) Hatfield; Great niece, Kierland Rushton; Beloved friends: Lu Anne Hatfield, and Teri Long; Many other loving family members and dear friends. Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Rushton, and brother, Ron Rushton. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Trinity Health – Oakland and University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor for all their love and care.
