William Webster Davis, aged 93, passed away on September 28, 2025. Born on February 15, 1932, William was beloved, devoted, kind-hearted, hard-working, and loyal.
William was the beloved husband, of 72 years, to the woman he cherished. He was a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A U.S. Marine, William was a veteran of the Korean War conflict. He participated in the seizure of Inchon and securing Seoul, the Wonson-Hungnam-Chosin campaign, and various other missions in Northern Korea. He proudly served in other operations against enemy forces after the "Chosin" campaign. William was a member of the 1st Marines and 1st Marine Division (1/1) in Korea. He received the Korean Service Medal with three bronze stars, the Presidential Unit Citation with one bronze star, and the UN Service Ribbon for his service. The Marines will forever remember and never forget the "Chosen Frozen.”
William was a retiree of Consumers Energy and was an avid golfer, bowler, a baseball player, and a great family man who would do anything to support his family throughout his life. He was known for never missing a son's ballgame--be it little league, high school, college, or summer league.
William is survived by his wife, Dolores; sons, Craig (Jane), Kyle (Alisa) and Chris (Flora); grandchildren, Kara, Linzi, Sean, Andrew, William; and daughter-in-law, Kate. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; his mother, Mildred; his son, Kirk: and two grandchildren.
William will be laid to rest with honors at the Great Lakes National Cemetery, on October 24, 2025 at 2:30pm with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars or other charities. |
