GRAND BLANC, MICHIGAN — Dolores Jean "Dee" Vanitvelt, age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2026.
Visitation: Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Swartz Funeral Home (W. Hill Rd). A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 South Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at church on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass.
Burial to follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Dolores was born in Flint, Michigan, on December 24, 1933, the daughter of the late Albert and Barbara Grantner.
On June 28, 1958, she married the love of her life, David Hugh Vanitvelt, in Flint, with whom she shared many beautiful years before his passing.
A dedicated homemaker, Dee poured her heart into raising her children and caring for her family. She was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church and actively participated in the St. Rita Guild and the 55 & Over group. Dee loved the simple pleasures of life: reading, working on puzzles, shopping, and taking trips "up north" to Houghton Lake. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children: Karen and husband John Mora, Suzanne Walker, Greg and wife Jennifer Vanitvelt, Dave and wife Marcie Vanitvelt
Her legacy lives on through her beloved grandchildren: Jonathan (Erin) Mora, Lauren (Daniel) Smolilo, Jacob (Kelsey) Vanitvelt, Hallie (Curtis) Frye, Sydney Vaintvelt, Abbie Vanitvelt, Kelsie Vanitvelt, Matthew Walker, and Kristin Walker. She was also the proud great-grandmother to Molly and Lily Mora, Harper and Rory Vanitvelt.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Hugh, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James, Ronald, and Gary Grantner.
