WILSON, Walter G.- Of Flint, age 89, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettel officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will start at 11am on Monday, service to start at 2pm at the funeral home.
Walter was born in Harrisburg, Illinois on July 15, 1936, the son of the late George and Wilma Wilson.
He married Shirley Svrcek on April 15, 1978.
Walter was a member of Calvary Community Church, local 659. He was employed as a Skill Trades welder at GM.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley; 3 children, Donetta (Michael) Hooper, Linda (Don) Jackson and George (Natasha) Wilson; 5 grandchildren, Damian (Trisha), Douglas (Stephanie), Valerie, Michelle (Andrew) and Cissillia (Russell); 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by special cousins Chunk and Jimmy.
