PIPER, Thomas J. - Of Burton, age 69, died Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Lyle Calkins officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
Visitation 2-7 p.m. Sunday and 12 p.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Thomas was born in Flint, Michigan on February 1, 1950, the son of the late Elwood and Jean (Wiecorek) Piper.
On June 6, 2015 he married Stacey Atkin.
Tom was drafted and served 2 years in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era.
Tom retired from GM after 28 years of service, where he served as a Committeeman.
He delivered parts for the past 8 years, for Motown Auto Parts and
was a Your Ride driver for M.T.A.
Surviving are wife, Stacey Atkin-Piper;
step-son, Lucas Atkin;
special cousins, Cora Wiecorek, Adeline Cox, Madeline Martin and Veronica Skalicka.
