Betty Jayne Hornacek
Age 85 of New Lothrop passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes Martin Chapel in Chesaning. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 8:00pm on Tuesday, November 7.
Betty was born on April 19, 1932 to Frank J. and Mary F. (Yanko) Stehlic in New Lothrop. She graduated from Chesaning Union High School. She married Robert J. Hornacek in 1954 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owosso; they celebrated 48 years of marriage before he predeceased her in 2002.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker all her life. She loved Polka music, she played the piano and accordion, and she played in the band Bedrick Smeage. She also loved animals; most of all her beloved dog, Penny.
Betty is survived by her son, Robert Hornacek, Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Abraham; her grandchildren, Rayna, Rhya, Mike (Jennifer), Rebecca, and Amy; her great-grandchildren, Morgan and Devin; and her sister, Jean (Joe) Zvonek.
She is predeceased by her husband, Robert; her daughter, Mary Jo Butler; and her parents.
