PARKINSON, Dale – of Flint, Michigan, age 78, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, Michigan 48423; Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. The family will receive visitors from 1 PM until the time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in honor of Dale.
Dale was born in Flint, Michigan on February 27, 1948, the son of the late Carl and Geraldine (Talley) Parkinson. On July 23, 1977, he married Margaret “Joann” Besson, the love of his life. She preceded him in death on February 9, 2008. Dale retired from General Motors in 1996 after 30 years of dedicated service. In 2011, he became the owner of the Sports Coupe Lounge, where he enjoyed spending time with friends and the community. He had a passion for horse racing and even owned several horses over the years. Dale also enjoyed visiting casinos and spending time outdoors, especially at the family cabin on Crystal Lake with his brothers, Jeff and Roger, whom he loved dearly. Dale was especially proud of his family and cherished time with his children and grandson, particularly watching his grandson play football. Known for being stubborn and set in his ways, those who knew him best also knew the deep love and loyalty he had for his family.
Dale is survived by his loving children, David (Kristina) Parkinson and Gary Parkinson; grandchildren: Alixendra, Adam (Jayna), Matthew (Sydnie), Dustin and Megan; six great grandchildren; brothers: Roger (Nancy) and Jeff (Kathy) Parkinson, several nieces, nephews, and stepchildren; and significant other, Shannon Bair; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by both parents; first wife, Pamela Burnash; late wife, Margaret “Joann” Parkinson, and nephew, Rick Parkinson.
