Fredricka Ann (Rickie) Hahn ne Larner, aged 78, passed away on March 1, 2026 from a long illness.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday March 5, 2026 at McGeehan Funeral Homes St. Charles Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Rickie was born December 24, 1947 in Saginaw, Michigan arriving both as a Christmas Eve blessing for her parents, Clarence Larner and Hildegard Friedle, and early birthday present for her brother, Mike. This holiday surprise was a clear indication for the celebration her life would become. She was sassy, whip smart and a wonderful social butterfly but most of all, Rickie was just…FUN! In high school she was a cheerleader, served in Homecoming court and played the clarinet. In her adult life, Rickie served 30+ years at Michigan Bell and Ameritech, retiring in her early fifties. She truly enjoyed all the things that make life worth living. Food, music, travel, shopping, reading and office pranks were her favorite activities. She was also an avid bowler and golfer in the St. Charles area participating in several ladies’ leagues, scoring a hole-in-one at Kimberly Oaks and was one spare short of a 300 game at least twice. Rickie and her husband, Russell Hahn, were married for 49 years in February 2023.
Rickie loved animals and felt no house was a home unless it had at least one cat. Most of all, Rickie’s greatest joy was providing her family and friends with thoughtful gifts. She searched and shopped year-round for birthdays, Christmas and baby showers much to the horror and dismay of her husband. Her signature gift was a hand sewn baby blanket and a brand-new edition of the Pokey Little Puppy. Rickie will be dearly missed by all who knew, worked with and cared for her.
Rickie was predeceased by her husband, Russ, parents Clarence and Hildegard, and brother Mike. She is survived by her daughter, Leslie, her cat Sprite and her grand-cats, Reilly and Littleford. Rickie and Leslie would like to thank everyone at HealthSource Saginaw for the excellent care she received over her long stay, extending extra thanks to Taylor, Michelle, Sandy, Jennifer, Melva, Molly, Miera, Dominique, Tatayana and Robert. In lieu of flowers or donations, Rickie would like you to have your favorite drink, enjoy a slice of banana bread and buy something completely frivolous for yourself or someone you love. She would have.
