MADDEN, Douglas Roy – of Davison, MI, age 56, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Monday, November 8, 2021, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating. The family will receive visitors from 12 Noon until the time of the service at the funeral home on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Arts Access, 111 E Kirby St., Detroit, MI 48202-4003 (must designate Genesee County), in Doug’s memory.
Doug was born in Flint, MI on June 27, 1965, son of the late Martin “Mart” Roy and Jane Marie (Drake) Madden. He was a graduate of Davison High School Class of 1983. Doug married Patricia Lynn on September 24, 1994. He attended Flint Institute of Barbering and later owned and operated Davison Family Barber Shop from 1987 to 2005. In 2003, Doug purchased Madden’s Lounge, the family business, with his brother Marty. Doug and Marty continued their partnership with the opening of MD’s Sports Tavern and Grill in 2013. Captain Dougie loved cruising on the pontoon entertaining his many friends and family. Doug didn’t know a stranger. His outgoing and adventurous spirit attracted many people with whom he welcomed with open arms. Throughout his lifetime, he was a very kind and generous soul. The most important moments of Doug’s life were spent with Patty and his son, Daniel (Doug’s best buddy) by his side enjoying family time on Sand Point, MI and Anna Maria Island, FL.
Doug is survived by his wife of 27 years, Patty Madden; son, Daniel Madden; 4 siblings, Lorraine (Dennis) Provost, Marty (Karla) Madden, David Madden and Nancy Madden; nieces and nephews, Rychelle, Alysia, Philip, Janel, Leslie, Allen, Alex; and many other loving family members and special friends. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Debbie Madden.
