IRELAND, Marvel Roberta (Bean) - Of Burton, Michigan, age 79, passed away, Sunday, September 7, 2014 at her home. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI. Pastor Patrick England officiating. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Mrs. Ireland was born in Burton Township, Genesee County, Michigan,
April 6, 1935, the daughter of Delbert Layton and "Tillie" Mathilda Pearl (Bees) Bean.
She graduated from Cheboygan High School in 1953, and Michigan College of Beauty Culture, Flint in 1955.
She married Dale Lewis Ireland, December 30, 1955 in Otisville, Michigan. She was a member of the Atherton United Methodist Church, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution; National Society Daughters of the Union, Lt. E. T. Carrington Chapter; Flint Genealogical Society; Grand Blanc Heritage Association. She self published a book of "Marvel's Memories and Facts" in 2000. Her hobbies were genealogy and photography.
Surviving are: husband Dale, Burton; son Randall Gene (Gerri Lynn) Ireland of Otisville, Michigan, daughter Denise Louise (Matthew) Howe of Mt. Morris, Michigan; son, Gary Lewis (Jennifer) Ireland of Grand Blanc, Michigan, grandchildren; Nathan Ireland, Chad (Sarah) Ireland,, Rachel (Joshua) Sauer, Brandon Tobias, Vincent (Carmen) Slocum, Michaell (Megan) Slocum, Daniel (Miranda) Ireland, Sean, Peter, Lauren, Gabrielle and Patrick Ireland; great-grandchildren; Michael Jr., Olivia, & Lucas Slocum, Emily Slocum, Elijah, Sierra & Arianna Sauer, Isaiah & Serenity Tobias, Caleb Ireland; sister, Loretta June (Phillip Sr.) Montiero of Sacramento, California, sister-in-law, Connie Bean, Boise, Idaho; step sisters; Mary (Max) Beach of Sun City, Arizona, Judy (Darrell) West of Kissimmee, Florida, Helen (Douglas) Youngblut of Scotland, Ontario.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mathilda "Tillie" Lawrence (12-28-1996), father, Delbert Layton Bean (5-26-97), step-mother, Jennie (White) Akrigg Bean ( 11-17-99), brother, Donald Layton Bean (4-27-10).
