Randy L Fowler, age 77 of Swartz Creek, Michigan, passed away on August 8, 2026, at home.
Funeral service will be at 11am Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation will be held from 1-8pm on Monday, August 10, 2026, and 10am Tuesday until the time of service at the funeral home.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Born on March 4th, 1949, in Smith, Harlan County, Kentucky, Randy lived a full and Vibrant life defined by hard work, generous spirit, and a deep love for his family.
Randy was the kind of man who never met a stranger. Outgoing, helpful, and genuinely caring, he had a way of making people feel welcome and valued. Whether he was lending a hand to a neighbor, cheering on the Detroit Lions, or gathering his big family around him, Randy gave everything he had to the people and pursuits he loved.
In February 1981 he started his career in law enforcement as a full-time Marshall for the Charter Township of Mundy. From there he served with Grand Blanc Township, and finally with Genessee County Sheriff department as a canine officer. After leaving the force he went into business as an Owner Operator with Standard Oil, having many service stations over the years. Owned Burton City Towing, worked at Applegate Chevrolet, opened up City Auto Service, and finally built Creek Auto Service where after 30 yrs in business he retired.
In between all the hard work was his passion for racehorses which turned into a family affair of breeding, raising and racing Harness horses. With many trips to the winner's circle. He was a member of the Michigan Harness Horseman's Association.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents Mark and Bonita Yeary, Cheryl Forbush his first wife, several aunts, and uncles.
Surviving are his wife of almost 40 yr Ella L Fowler, son David L Fowler (Theresa), son James L Fowler (Jennifer), daughter Shereen Zimmers (Dan), son Dave L Fowler (Linda), and daughter Debra Fowler. Brother Mark Yeary (Sheilah), Brother Mike Yeary (Noon), Sister Vicki Graham (Kevin) Grandchildren, Kaylin, Erica (Scott), Alison (Marty), Gaven (Sydney), Lauren, Dylan (Josie), Ethan, Alyssa (Tyler), Shelby, Clara, Ashley, and Arden. Bonus grandchildren Chris, and Savannah. Great Grand Children, Hailey, Gus, Ryleigh, Kynley, Everleigh, Eliza, Clarence, Kya, Kennedy, Millie Jean, Elena, Eliana, Dallas, Wesley, Jolene, Lucy, Hunter, Rosie, Remington, and Rainleigh.
