SUCHY, Nina May (Elmore) – of Davison, MI, age 90, passed away suddenly Friday, November 3, 2017. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Dorthea Weist, of the First Baptist Church of Davison, officiating. Cremation will take place following the funeral service. The family will receive visitors 3-6 PM Monday, November 6, 2017 and 10-11 AM Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the First Baptist Church of Davison, 208 E 4th St. Davison, MI 48423, in Nina’s memory.
Nina was born in Bloomfield, Missouri on May 4, 1927, daughter of the late Lesley “Red” and Lena (Loumis) Elmore. Later moving to Flint, Goodrich and finally Davison where she met and married her husband Ed Suchy in 1961 while working at Reid Drugstore. Together they built Suchy Electric a business they owned and operated for over 35 years until retiring. Ed preceded her in death on March 19, 2010. Nina never knew a stranger. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cards with her friends. She was a long-standing member of the First Baptist Church of Davison and enjoyed spending the cold Michigan winters at her condo in warm sunny Florida.
Nina is survived by her son, Bob Porritt; daughter, Lynn (Porritt) Dziurman; step-son, Thomas (Marjorie) Porritt; 5 grandchildren, Chad Porritt, Tara (Luke) Filar, Brooke (Shawn Hande), Trent (Sherri Barker) and Jason Porritt; 2 great-grandchildren, Cameron Porritt and Lillian Filar.
