LANGBEIN, Kurt W. - Of Burton, age 64, died Sunday, February 7, 2021 at his residence.
Memorial visitation will be held 12pm-7pm Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.
A private burial will take place at Sunset Hills Cemetery in the summer.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
Kurt was born in Flint, Michigan at St. Joseph Hospital on June 25, 1956, the son of the late Walter and Alice (Martin) Langbein. He attended Flint Southwestern High School and later got his G.E.D. while working at General Motors. Kurt worked at Flint Fisher Body, Buick City and the Truck Plant. He went on to earn his Truck Driving Certification and retired in 2015. Kurt enjoyed driving, trivia, puzzles and good food. He admired the world of rock n’ roll music; including concerts, celebrity interviews and collectibles. Above all, Kurt loved spending time with friends and family.
Surviving are siblings, Mark Langbein and husband Mike Thiel of SC, Gary and wife Nancy Langbein of Flint and Sharlene and husband Pastor Todd Ervin of Waterford;
Nephew and nieces, Zachary Langbein, Erin Ervin and Liesel Reinke and husband, Kevin;
Special Aunt Juanita Cotie of AZ;
Jacob Zelenka;
Many cousins (45) with whom he made wonderful memories and shared lifelong friendships;
Many friends who enriched his life and helped support him during his battle with cancer;
And lastly, his beloved cat, Rudy, who comforted him until the end.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Karmonos Cancer Treatment Center of Lapeer and Home Health and Hospice Team from McLaren-Davison for their phenomenal care for Kurt until he fell asleep in Jesus where there is no more cancer.
