Staffne, Merland Allen of Burton, age 78 died March 23, 2015 at Genesys Hospital. Funeral service will be held 1 PM, Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Dodds Dumanois Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 901 Garland St. Flint, MI. Family will receive visitors from 12-8 PM, Wednesday, March 25, and from 12 noon until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Pastor Dale Pattee officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Merland was joined in marriage to Agnes Gearhart July 2, 1955 and she preceded him in death October 30, 2012. Merland retired from Flint Truck and Bus after 30 years of employment. He loved working on cars for anyone who needed it. Merland is survived by 4 children; Merlene Emory, Terry Staffne, Carrie (Ray) Floyd, Rich (Sandy) Staffne; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren; sisters Lila and Lola Mays; sister-in-law Ruth (Bud) Cox. Preceded in death by wife Agnes, parents Melvin and Vinna (Moore) Staffne, twin brother Leland and siblings Butch, Weldon, Don, Jaylon and Elaine.
