MITRU, Helen Louise (Vamos) - Of Burton, age 83, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2pm Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Private burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society.
Visitation 12pm Sunday until the time of the service.
Helen was born in Flint on March 20, 1934, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Helen Vamos. She graduated from Flint Northern High School. Helen retired from Chevrolet Flint Manufacturing after 30 years of service. Helen loved her dog, Buster and had a passion for animals. She enjoyed volunteering at the Genesee County Humane Society and was a member of MMTD (Mid-Michigan Therapy Dogs).
Surviving are daughter, Laurie and husband Michael Boyd;
granddaughter, Brenna Boyd;
her beloved dog, Buster;
cousins, Vicky Vamos, William (Laurie) Vamos and Laura (Paul) Vert;
and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie, son, Mark Schmitzer, and her beloved grandson, Griffin Boyd.
