Paul Frederich Martin, age 81, of Burton and Flint, Michigan passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 12, 2021. Paul was born September 29, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Alexander and Johanna (Vellar) Martin. Paul married Lois Raver on February 29, 1959 until 1987. Paul married Linda Newton on July 31, 1992, she preceded him in death on December 6, 2008.
In 1956, Paul joined the United States Marine Corps, he stayed active at the Flint Detachment #155. He had a life long dedication to the Marine Corps. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his beer and sports: Michigan State (Go Green!), Chicago Cubs but most of all he enjoyed every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Paul is survived by his first wife, Lois (Raver) Martin; children: Brenda (Kevin) Christie, Johanna Sweet, Jonathan Paul Martin; stepdaughter, Vickie Newton; grandchildren: Jennifer (Josh) Keasler, Elizabeth (Adam) Norman, Kevin II K.C. (Rachel) Christie, Shannon (Jesse) Christie, Michael (Britany) Sweet, Ryan (Kalen) Sweet, Desiree Newton; great grandchildren: McKenzie (Conner) Keasler, Isabella Keasler, Paris Keasler, Landyn Norman, McKinley Norman, Aaliyah Christie, Nathan Christie, Willow Christie; sisters: Ruth (Tom) Hart, Miriam Martin, Kathy (Robert) Piotraczk; many nieces and nephews; furry friends, Tuffy and Zeus; and life long friend, Jack Trosko and many more of the Flint Detachment #155, Semper Fi.
A visitation for Paul will be held Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with military memorial service at 7pm at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E Hill Rd, Grand Blanc, Michigan. A funeral service will occur Monday, September 20, 2021 at 12:00 PM with one hour of visitation prior to the service at Brown Funeral Home. Paul will be laid to rest in Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, Michigan.
