EDRINGTON, Patty – of Montrose, age 62, died Friday April 20th, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, April 27, 2018 at Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 5375 W. Mt. Morris Road, Mt. Morris, Pastors Doug Klein and Wayne Vann officiating. Family will receive visitors at the church from 12PM until the time of service at 2PM.
Patty was born May 22, 1955 in Flint, Michigan to the late William and Sylvia (Sohlden) Barber. She graduated from Lapeer High School in 1973. Patty married Bill Edrington on November 3, 1979 at Woodside Church in Flint, Michigan. She retired from General Motors in 2005 with 30 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #599. She had been an active member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church since 2007. Patty was famous for her home cooked meals, had a passion for selling Mary Kay, and loved to sing, especially in the choir. Patty enjoyed being a deaconess in the church and spending time with her family and close friends. She could light up a room with her contagious smile and outgoing nature. Patty touched many lives, from friends to strangers. Her positivity had a lasting impact on her loved ones, earning her the nickname “Positive Patty”.
Surviving are: Husband, Bill; Children: Kyle (Christine) Edrington, Kelly (Ryan) DeSander, and Rachel (Jacob Heddy) Edrington; Brothers: William (Carol) Barber, James (Rita) Barber, John Paul Barber; Sisters, Cynthia Couture, Teresa Cusack, and Bonnie (Endo) Bannon.
