Sandra Jankowski, age 84 of Lapeer, died Thursday May 28, 2026. She was born December 3, 1941 in Detroit, to Alphonse “Al” and Ruby (Smith) Vendal.

Sandy graduated from St. Rita’s Catholic School in Detroit. She married Gerald “Jerry” Jankowski on November 30, 1963 in Detroit. Sandy was a wonderful cook and the perfect hostess for entertaining family and friends, she made the “world’s best meatloaf, spaghetti and potato salad”. The family said, “If she loved you, she cooked for you and over fed you!”. Mrs. Jankowski was a loving homemaker, caring for her family was her number one priority. Sandy took great pride in keeping her home and yard “just perfect”.

Mrs. Jankowski had so many wonderful friends, she was a social butterfly. She was tiny but had a fierce presence. First there was her group of friends from high school days, the “Club”, they have gotten together every month since that time and are still close friends. Sandy also had a wonderful group of friends from the time they lived in Hadley and then there was the Caseville Resort & Marina Family. There were so many wonderful memories in Caseville, boating and more recently “dry dock” boating. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her!!

Sandra is survived by her children: Tim (Amy) Jankowski of Clarkston and Tracy (Gary) Goulet of Flushing; grandchildren: Tim, Abigail (Keegan), Rachel, Alex and Claire; great-grandson: Theodore; and sister-in-law: Dayna Vendal of Atlanta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her loving husband: Jerry Jankowski; her mother: Ruby (Bert) Fales; father: Al (Pat) Vendal; brother: Andrew Vendal; and very faithful “Mut”: Bella.

A memorial service to celebrate Sandy’s life will be held 11AM Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, from 10-11AM. A funeral luncheon will follow immediately after the service at the Lapeer Country Club.  Sandy’s cremains will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date, with her dear husband Jerry. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Humane Society. Please share condolences and memories with the family at www.MuirBrothersLapeer.com.
