NOWYORKAS, John G. – Of Burton, age 71, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Burial in Flint Memorial Park to follow.
Visitation 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
John was born in Flint, Michigan on September 17, 1949, the son of Alexander and Helen (Collins) Nowyorkas. He attended Atherton High School. John retired from Buick Motor Division as a forklift operator and dispatcher after many years.
John was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed camping. Above all else, he loved his family.
Surviving are wife, Deborah;
children, Denise (Russell) Pierson, John (Amy) Nowyorkas, Chad (Tammy) Nowyorkas and Tiffany (Bill) Nowyorkas;
step-children, Michelle (Mike) Gauthier, Crystal Bradford, Dennis (Gypsy) Tuttle and Tammy (Jonathan) Holbrook;
10 grandchildren;
many, many loving great-grandchildren;
siblings, Katherine “Kitty” Ross, Marion Groulx, Judith Orrison, Alexander Nowyorkas, Jr. and Holger Nowyorkas;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Linda Nowyorkas; parents, Alexander and Helen Nowyorkas and brothers, Steven A. Nowyorkas and Michael T. Nowyorkas.
