Thorson, Alan L., of Flushing, age 87, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at his home.
Alan was born in Flint, Michigan on May 18, 1937, the son of the late Andrew and Audra (Jensen) Thorson. He proudly served in the United States Army. On May 25, 1968, he married Betty M. McGillen, where they remained in matrimonial bliss for 56+ years. Alan retired from General Motors after 42 years of service.
Alan enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, enhancing the household grounds, collecting coins, antique toys and brass.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; Daughters, Rhonda L. Zolman and Michelle (George) Williams; Brother, Laren (Carol) Thorson; Grand children, Austin C. Zolman, Sierra M. Hutmacher and Kelsey Krueger, Step-grand children, Abby, Caleb, and Izzy Williams, and his loving dog Bella.
Alan was preceded in death by his son, Kevin. Parents, Andrew and Audra and sister, Melva Jean.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan’s memory are suggested to Gentiva Hospice of the Michigan or the Shriners. |
