Bowen, Wesley Thomas, of Flushing, age 93, died Friday, February 12, 2021, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Rev. Clifford Bira will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rossell Funeral Home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Wesley was born in Sterling, Michigan on October 16, 1927, the son of Thomas and Esther (Redmond) Bowen. He married Margaret Kapture. She preceded him in death on March 29, 2016. Wesley proudly served in the U.S. Army in occupied Japan. He retired in 1992, from General Motors, Buick Motor Division with 42 years of service. Wesley was a long-time member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, where he served on many committees and as an usher.
He is survived by his children, David and wife Carol Brown, Janis and husband Mark Eitel, Sheryl and husband Tom Kulis, all of Flushing; grandchildren, Nicholas and Chad Wellisley, Samantha and husband Thomas Gibson, Jason and wife Amber Kulis; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Brendan Wellisley; step-children, Carol and husband Steven Tagg, Alan and wife Elizabeth DeShano, Joseph DeShano, all of Florida. Wesley was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Pharen, Douglas, Donald; sisters, Edith Jean and Eva Padget.
