CALCAGNO, Jack A. - Of Flint, age 90, died Friday, December 1, 2017 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, G-5199 Richfield Road, Flint,
Father Roy Horning officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Food Bank and Hurley Children’s Hospital.
Visitation 3-8pm Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Wednesday at church until the time of the Mass.
Jack was born February 11, 1927 in Flint, Michigan to Joseph and Mary (D'Antoni) Calcagno. He was a graduate of Flint Northern High School, Class of 1945. Jack served our Country in World War II in the United States Navy in the Philippines. He lived in Flint his entire life. Jack retired form General Motors S.P.O. and also worked several years at Applegate Chevrolet in the Parts Department. He loved football and played in high school and for Flint Blue Devils-Flint Semi Pro Team. He also loved to bowl and golf. On May 29, 1971, he married Madelon Chapelle. Jack was a longtime member of St. Leo's Catholic Church for many years and now a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
He was also a member of the American Legion.
Surviving him are wife, Madelon;
brother, Paul; sister-in-law, Gloria;
many nieces, nephews and their families and cousins.
He was predeceased by his daughter Monya and first wife Molly.
