WHITWORTH, James “Snake” – of Flint, age 69, passed away December 9, 2015 at Genesys Health Park. A Funeral Service will be held 3:30 PM Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison.. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be 12 – 3 PM Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Old Newsboys of Flint or The Special Learning Center, 1115 Fairgrounds Rd., Jefferson City, MO 65109, grandson Alex attended school there.
James was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on October 24, 1946, son of late James and Norah (Gallagher) Whitworth. He married Sharon Nitzschke on December 28, 1987. James “Pip” was an avid bowler at Richfield Bowl and loved to golf. James was an excellent backyard mechanic. He worked at Buick City for 45 years, retiring in 2011.
James is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Jim (Holly) Whitworth, Doug (Bethanie) Whitworth, Dawn Thelen, April (Bill) Drewel and Michael (Kayla) Whitworth; daughter-in-law, Melissa Cornell; stepfather, George Ebel; grandchildren, Brittany, Hunter, Devin, Kayla, Aubrey, Gabriella, Ashley, Patrick, Brianna, Rachel, Logan and Corey; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Alyssa, Carson and Christian; sister, Beverly (Gary) Smith; brother, Richard (Melody) Hibbert; father and mother-in-law, Charles (Sandra) Nitzschke; in-laws, Ron (Shelly) Nitzschke, Scott (Rosie) Nitzschke and Joe Nitzschke; niece and nephews, Chris (Paul) Ellingson and Gary Smith; beloved pets, snake, Paulie; dog, Sadie;. He was preceded in death by his son, Russell; brother, Dean Domorsky; niece, Debi Westrum; grandchildren, Serenity Faith and Alex.
