Daus, Cayetano 5/14/1933 - 9/13/2018 Las Vegas Nevada Cayetano Daus joined his two sons in heaven on September 13, 2018 Las Vegas, NV. He was 85 years old. He was born in the Philippines on May 14, 1933. He was a long time resident of Flushing, MI before moving to Las Vegas, NV in his latter years. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Mapua Institute of Technology, Philippines and Master's Degree at Eastern Michigan University. He was Director of Plant Facilities, Hurley Medical Center for many years. He rose from the ranks and was one of the very few Filipinos to advance to the rank of senior executive staff position at Benguet Consolidated Mining Company, Philippines which was American owned. He was a Fourth Degree, Knights of Columbus at St. Robert, Flushing and St. Joseph Husband of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Las Vegas, NV. He was a member and officer of Toastmasters International for years. Cayetano had the courage and foresight to bring his young family to a new country and fulfill his dreams he had for them. His lifetime of endless love, sacrifice and hard work for his wife, children, grandchildren and beloved extended family of siblings; nieces, nephews, cousins and more have thrived because of his dreams. Yet, he remained the kindest, gentlest and most of humble of men. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Anita Dacpano Daus; daughter, Liza Stolnicki; grandchildren, Jonathon Daus, Kristin Daus, Justin Daus, Cee Cee Daus, Sammy Masters, Whitney Stolnicki, Dalton Stolnicki, Nathan Stolnicki, Lily Daus and Ella Daus; siblings Thelma Jose and Linda Daus; in laws Robert Stolnicki, Penny Daus and Theresa Daus; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sons, Dr. Patrick Daus and LTC Cliff Daus; parents, Alfredo and Maura Daus; aunt Christina Daus; sister, Aida Daus; brothers Ernesto and Alfredo Daus. He was cherished and loved by a large and extended family. He left this earth with a rich soul and a heart full of love. Rite of Committal and Internment service will be held on Nov. 24, 2018, 11 am at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in the Mausoleum Chapel, Flint, MI. Officiated by Fr. William Luggar. |
