Dorothy Aileen Snyder

Age 91, of Owosso, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 11 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, with Fr. Michael O'Brien officiating. Following the service, Dorothy will be laid to rest at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. The family welcomes friends for visitation at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 2 PM to 8 PM, with a rosary being prayed at 7 PM.

Born on July 16, 1934, in Middlebury, Dorothy was the cherished daughter of John and Kathryn (Laza) Novak.

She graduated from Owosso Public Schools and embraced life with a deep sense of faith and love for her community. Dorothy was a devoted member of St. Paul’s Church, where her faith flourished. She actively participated in the Funeral Dinner Committee, finding joy in serving others and contributing to her church family. Her warm heart and unwavering faith were evident to all who knew her.

Dorothy married Gerald Snyder in Owosso on May 26, 1984. Together, they shared over 37 wonderful years filled with love and companionship until his passing in 2021.

Dorothy dedicated more than 25 years to Pleasant View, where her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many.

Dorothy's legacy lives on through her beloved family, including her children: Gary (Julie) Horton, James (Sue) Horton, Lisa Graham, Lorri Blanton, and Sherry (Pat) Rennie; as well as 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Frank Novak, Rose Gillon, and Agnes (Joe) Backa, along with many other cherished family members and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Snyder; children, Robin Bowels and Shelly Horton; her siblings, John Novak, Gordon Novak and Carol Kocsis; her loving parents; and son-in-law, Don Graham.

In honor of Dorothy's faith and memory, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Paul Catholic Church.
