GOETTL, Rose – Of Grand Blanc, age 89, died Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Western Hills Assisted Living.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Road, Grand Blanc, Pastor Todd A. Biermann officiating.
Private burial in White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, MI.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation 1-8 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Rose was born in Racinovci, Yugoslavia on April 9, 1928, the daughter of the late Frank and Theresia (Hahn) Dewald.
On November 18, 1950 she married Egon Goettl in Windsor, Ontario.
Rose loved her family with all her heart. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a simple, plain spoken and hard working person, who never met a piece of cake she didn’t like.
Surviving are daughter, Caroline and husband Eric Ethington of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Jason and Jacob;
son, Ed and wife Donna Goettl of Fort Mill, South Carolina.
A special thank you to all of Rose’s caregivers, Monica Graziano, Stephanie Gocha, and the staff at Heartland Hospice and Western Hills Assisted Living.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Egon in 2012; parents, Frank and Theresia Dewald; brother, Willie Dewald and sister, Katherina Eberhardt.
