AUGER, Jerome – of Davison, age 87, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Ascension Genesys Hospital. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 7, 2023 followed by a Funeral Service at Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 5151 Lennon Road, Flint, MI 48507; Rev. Kate Morrison officiating. Interment will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 4-8 PM on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Saturday at Trinity United Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Presbyterian Church, in Jerome’s memory.
Jerome was born in Flint, MI on July 4, 1936, son of the late Albert and Marguerite (Manning) Auger. He married Sharon Perry May 3,1958 in Grand Rapids, MI. Jerome graduated from Flint Central High School in 1954, He attended Mott College and U of M Ann Arbor. Jerome worked for A&P Grocery Stores, Flint Welding Supply, and then started at SC Johnson Wax Co. in 1962 until he retired in 1994. Jerome was co-owner of Pillow People, a subsidiary of Pillow World Manufacturing. He worked part time for Greeson and Company in Grand Rapids in sales. He was a member of the Flint Lodge #23 F & AM Grand Lodge and Clam Lake Lodge #331 F & AM. Jerome was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church which merged into Trinity Untied Presbyterian Church. He served as an Elder, Trustee and a Deacon for many years. Jerome was a member of the GMR. He was a boy scout leader, men’s golf league at Genesee Hills, men’s choir and bell choir at the church. Jerome loved camping, waterskiing, and exploring the US in his camper, including a 9-week trip to Alaska.
Jerome is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sharon; children, Jerome R. Jr. (Kathleen) Auger, Bethany (Guy) Hissong, Russell (Juliann) Auger and Ronald Auger; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Ardith Miller; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by sister, Arlene Murray and granddaughter, Melissa Hissong.
