PRATT, CECIL LAWRENCE Jr. age 93, died Sunday, August 5, 2018 at home with his family. Memorial Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 9020 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI. The Rev. Don Davidson officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI, with a Masonic Memorial at 7:00 P.M. Cecil was born July 27, 1925 in Durand, MI to parents Cecil Lawrence Sr. and Nellie (Ritchie) Pratt. Cecil was a member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church and in his youth served as altar boy at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Flint, Michigan. He was a member of Fellowship Masonic Lodge #236, the Bay City Consistory and Elf Khurafeh Shrine. Cecil spent many hours donating time to Flint Shrine Circus. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, member of VFW Post #277, and WWII Sub Vet Association. Cecil participated in the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in 2016. He joined Boy Scouts as a boy and became a Scout Master to Troop 71. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family, on his back deck with his dog Max, and going to his cabin. Surviving are children Lawrence (Kathy) Pratt, Margaret (Ron) Ingram, Carol (Michael) Shields, Christine Mandock, Mary Ann (Dan Brumley) Pratt, Lillian (Graham) Berthung; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters Doris Furno, Jeri Priest, Diann (Mark) Tryell; several nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends, Lawrence and Chris Melancon. Preceded in death by wife Alice Pratt of 68 years, in 2014. Contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. |
