Prause, Fred William, of Flushing, age 80, died Sunday, July 5, 2026, at McLaren-Flint. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2026, at Flushing Presbyterian Church. Pastor Paul Pfeuffer will officiate. Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Caterer Family (formerly Rossell) Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Monday at the church until the time of the service at 11 a.m.
Fred was born in Flint, Michigan on March 15, 1946, the son of Gordon Lloyd and Ruth Annette (Thomas) Prause. He married Mildred MacMain in 2006 and together they recently celebrated their 20th anniversary. Fred worked in many capacities at General Motors for over 40 years. He was an avid fisherman, especially fly fishing and enjoyed tying his own flies. In his later years, he discovered a musical talent and loved playing the bass and other string instruments and was active in a Bluegrass band. Fred and Milly were faithful members of Flushing Presbyterian Church.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Milly; children, Tony (Lori) Prause, Nicole Fisher, Rob (Pat) MacMain; grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie), Ryan (Lydia), Emily, Lane, Taylor (Brandon), Caleb, Gabriel, Aden; great-grandchildren, Serenity, Landen, Silas, Esme, Ryleigh, Colsen; sister, Evenlyn Andrews; brother-in-law, Leonard Supernaunt; several nieces and nephews; and beloved neighbors, Chris and Randall Browning. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Supernaunt; and infant brother, Dickie Prause.
