Susan Jane (Bauder-Ciavarelli) Jackson, wife of Richard Jackson, daughter of Earl B. Bauder and Cleo S. Tryon passed away on June 3, 2025 at Hurley Medical Center.
Susan was born on September 14, 1944 in Midland, Michigan. The family moved to Flint where she spent most of her life. She graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1962 where she met many of her closest friends that she remained in contact with throughout her life.
She raised two wonderful sons, Jason and Eric Ciavarelli, by herself, while working three jobs: At the law firm of O’Rourke, Goldstein, Joseph, Kelly and Leiter, Meijer’s in the evening and bookkeeper for Dorothy’s Reporting Service on the weekends. She retired from Hurley Medical Center where she was an EKG Technician, Secretary and friend to all she met.
In her retirement, she devoted her time to antiquing/junking and scrapbooking, often going away for an entire weekend with friends to sequester themselves in a bed and breakfast in Owosso where they were supposed to scrapbook, but her stories of these getaways talked more about great food and cocktails.
She was a proud wife, mother, grandmother, housekeeper, employee and self-appointed event planner for the family. She was married to Richard Jackson of Bancroft where she spent many years making trips to “The Club” where they had a cabin.
She loved decorating their farmhouse with her junking treasures, making wonderful home cooked meals, tending her garden and bossing everyone else around when she was no longer able to perform those duties by herself.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard; her children, Jason Ciavarelli and Eric (Kari Carter) Ciavarelli; stepsons, Rick (Kristi) Jackson and Ron (Stacie) Jackson, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, Joyce Wilson and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents.
