HILL, Robert – of Davison, age 96, passed away August 1, 2018 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Dr. Joseph Novak officiating. Burial will be in Davison Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday and 10 AM until time of service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Davison Educational Foundation.
Robert was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on June 12, 1922, son of the late Herbert and Helen (Davidson) Hill. He married Margaret E. “Peggy” Randolph on January 8, 1944 and she preceded him in death on June 13, 2003. Robert proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a founding member of the Davison Country Club. Robert received a football scholarship from the University of Toledo. He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs, enjoyed golf and all sports in general. Robert started his educational career in Jonesville, MI and retired from Davison Community Schools in 1978 as Assistant Superintendent, with most of his time as a Principal.
Robert is survived by his son, Steven (Linda) Hill; nephew, William Hill (Dee); niece, Susan Hill (Ron Barrett). He was preceded in death by his brother, Willis Hill.
