Carol Lee Blair, 77, of Reese, died Friday morning, April 11, 2025, surrounded by her family at her home in Reese. She was born Dec 25, 1947, in Durand, daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Wisley) Ryan. Carol was a graduate of Durand High School; she continued her education at The University of Michigan, where she received her degree in social work. On August 10, 1973, she married her best friend and love of her life Robert Shelby “Sheb” Blair whom she lost on January 13, 2025.
She was a social worker in Lapeer and Flint for many years until her retirement. Retirement, however, didn’t slow her down-it only gave her more time to pursue her many interests and passions. She enjoyed socializing with her family and friends at the condos in Reese and in Harlingen, Texas. Carol was an avid fan of chocolate, golfing, traveling and a proud supporter of U of M Sports, she lived life to help others, took care of everyone. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Carol was her family’s hero, “real boss” and biggest supporter.
Surviving is her daughter; Yvette Morris; two grandchildren; Cassie Elisse Morris and Joseph Steven Morris; brother, Jim (Frances) Ryan; sister-in-law, Chrissy Ryan, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Carol was predeceased by her son-in-law Steve Morris and her sibling, Mike Ryan.
Funeral services will take place at 12 noon on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home - Reese Chapel, 9940 Saginaw St, Reese. The burial will take place at a later date at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home in Reese
