Lum, Sandra Lynn - Age 71, of Grand Blanc, passed away December 18, 2025. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc. The service can also be viewed by live stream via the link at the base of Sandra's obituary at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. Visitation will be held 4:00-8:00 PM Friday, December 26 and 10:00 AM Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home. There will be a Nightingale Tribute at 6:00 PM Friday offered by the Nurses Honor Guard of Genesee County. Sandra will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan at a later date. Those desiring, may make contributions in memory of Sandra to the American Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org).
Sandra was born July 1, 1954 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Lyle Thomas and Mary Ruth (Anderson) Brookman. She attended Flint Central High School and later on got her GED before receiving her Associate Nurse (LPN) degree from Mott Community College and graduated with Bachelor Science of Registered Nurse (BSRN) from University of Michigan Flint. Sandra loved children and as a result, invested 30 years as a Registered Nurse, with the Special Care Nursery, at Genesys Hospital before retiring in 2010. She was the past secretary of the Chinese American Association of Great Flint and a former member of the Genesys Women's Golf League. Sandra liked to travel and read books, she was involved with Book Club. She also enjoyed needlework, cross-stitch, knitting, crocheting. collecting stuffed penguins, puzzles and playing euchre. Sandra cherished the time she spent with her husband, kids, grandchildren and friends. Sandra and Kai "Ray" were married for 50 years.
Surviving is her husband, Kai "Ray" Lum. Children, Elizabeth Lum of Grand Blanc and Stephen (Elizabeth Cartwright) of Los Angeles, CA. Grandchildren, Grace, Elyse & Gabriel Lum-Budry and Felix Lum. Siblings, Michael Brookman of Virginia and Barbara (Thomas) Bailey of New Mexico. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kerry Brookman; sister, Carol Cobb.
