Labian, Laura of Flushing, age 59, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Rev. Clifford Bira will officiate. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Friday at Rossell Funeral Home and 9 a.m. Saturday at the church until time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Laura was born in Flint, Michigan on October 10, 1954, the daughter of Paul and Violet (Chapelle) Labian. She was a 1972 graduate of Flushing High School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Michigan State University in 1976 and worked as a Registered Nurse for St. Joseph Hospital. She enjoyed going on walks in downtown Flushing and would often be seen with a diet Coke or coffee. Laura also enjoyed playing the piano, but her greatest love was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Gustavo (Jessica Nale) Gomez; a grandson on the way; parents, Paul and Violet Labian; sisters, Cynthia and husband Mark Smith, Fawn and husband Christian Glassford, Dr. LuAnn Labian and Jeff Jones; many nieces and nephews; father to her son, Gustavo A. Gomez.
Laura was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Labian.
Our hearts are broken, but in peace, knowing she is finally whole again. |
