HUGET, James Edward, 80 of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away on December 16, 2024. He was born July 11, 1944 in Flint Michigan to Leonard and Dorothy Huget.
Jim worked for General Motors, as a Toolmaker for 32 years, retiring in 1995. He married Mary Mikek on February 18, 1983. They loved to travel and continued to do so after retiring to Arkansas in 2008. Jim was an avid basketball "Super Fan" for Flint's Mott College, attending many games with Best Friend, Ron Meeker. Jim also enjoyed watching University of Michigan and Detroit Lions Football games. Watching The Lone Ranger morning, noon and night was also a favorite pastime.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Dorothy Huget, sister Debbie Burnside, brother and sister-in-law Eugene and Barbara Huget and grandson Sean Pomerantz.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Mary Huget, daughter Elaine Pomerantz, daughter and son-in-law Karen and Chris Palmer, granddaughter Melissa and husband Bob Shank, sister Myra Carpenter, brother-in-law Dale Burnside and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Father Georges Bidzogo officiating.
Visitation 10am Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to family friend Kathleen White and Dierkson Hospice staff for the outstanding care and attention that Jim received. It was greatly appreciated.
