Mrs. Ann Davis-Hampton, affectionately known as “Happy” by her great-grandchildren and lovingly called “Sister” by a host of family and friends, was born on August 21, 1933, in Suggsville, Alabama, to the late Archie and Ethel Presnall. She was a long-time resident of Flint, Michigan.

Mrs. Ann Davis-Hampton worked various jobs throughout her early years before finding her lifelong career at McLaren General Hospital, where she retired after many years of dedicated service. Ann was a faithful member of Saint James AME Methodist Church, where she accepted Christ as her Savior. She was actively involved in the church choir and contributed much to the church community. Her love for the Lord guided her daily.

In 1981, Ann married Calvin L. Hampton, and they shared many years together. Ann was a devoted wife and caregiver, a role she embraced until Calvin's passing in 2006.

Mrs. Ann Davis-Hampton had a passion for gardening, especially growing vegetables and flowers. She cherished the time spent with her family, particularly her great-great-granddaughter, Savanna. One of her favorite hobbies included crocheting and baking her famous sweet potato pies, which were loved by many.



Mrs. Ann Davis-Hampton leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters, Dorthy Thompson (Richard Flynn) of Flint, MI., Carolyn Davis of Flint, MI., and Monica Davis of Washington, DC. She has 5 grand children: Contessa Davis of Flint, MI., Dana Davis of Memphis, TN., Lucius Thompson of Norfolk, VA., Delano Davis (Jyldyz) of Kyrgyzstan, and Kenisha Thompson of Houston, TX. She has 4 great grandchildren: LaTerrance Campbell Jr. and Donovan Harris both of Flint, MI., Kendall Bell of Memphis, TN., and Archibald Muras Davis of Kyrgyzstan. She also has one great-great grand daughter, Savanna Campbell of Flint, MI.



Mrs. Ann Davis-Hampton was preceded in death by her parents Archie and Ethel Presnall; sisters, Dorothy Presnall, Archie Lee Brewton, Annie Ruth Edgar, Eunice Matthews and Corrine McCall; brothers, Moses “Jabo” Presnall, Melvin Presnall, Curtis Presnall “Lil’ Baby”, Booker Presnall and James Presnall.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who loved and held Ann “Happy” dear to their hearts. Your support has meant the world.
