Age 77, of Haslett, Michigan, June Ann Johnson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on June’s tribute wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.
June Ann Johnson was born on March 27, 1948, in Havre De Grace, Maryland, the beloved daughter of Ben and Ruth “Bunny” (Oesterle) Zaidinski. She spent the first half of her life in the Flint area, where she found purpose in her work as a social worker for Genesee County—helping others brought her great joy and fulfillment.
Later in life, June moved to Lansing to be closer to her daughter, Michelle, while she attended Michigan State University. There, June continued her career briefly with the State of Michigan. She had a passion for sewing and crafting, and she loved watching golf—a sport close to her heart, as her father had been a golf pro.
A devoted animal lover, June volunteered her time creating dog beds and leashes for the Humane Society and the Animal Placement Bureau. Her compassionate spirit extended to all creatures, great and small. She was also a woman of deep faith, a devout Christian with a cherished collection of crosses, and she was a proud and steadfast supporter of various veterans’ organizations.
June’s warmth, generosity, and creativity will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Robert A. Johnson Jr. (Lana LaFramboise); her daughter, Michelle R. DeLano; and her sister, Jeanne Sartor (Tom).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Ruth “Bunny” Zaidinski. |
