LUTZ, Jean C. – of Clio, age 86, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Ascension Genesys Hospital of Grand Blanc. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Friday from 12PM until 2PM with a private family funeral service and livestream beginning at 2PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society.
Jean was born September 3, 1934 in Paris, Kentucky to the late Zachary and Ethel (Day) Smith. She married Richard T. Lutz on June 13, 1964 in Paris, Kentucky. Jean worked as a church secretary and operated a daycare out of her home for many years. She loved the Lord and was very involved with Living Word Church of God in Flint and Community Church of God in Clio, where over the years she played the organ, enjoyed singing in the choir, helped in the nursery and with the funeral dinner ministry. Jean was very artistic and could always be found crafting and working on home improvements. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and church family, and was fond of cardinals. Above all, Jean loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are: Husband, Richard Lutz; Son, Kenton (Jill) Lutz; Daughter, Jerolyn (Daryl) Youmans; Grandchildren: Kenton Thomas Lutz, Holly Hofstetter, Michelle Hofstetter, Zain Hudson, Corey Ehrmantraut, Tyler Youmans, and Zachary Youmans; Great grandchildren: Naythan, Jesse, Jordan, Weslee, Alivia, and Amelia; Identical twin sister, Jane Germany. Jean was also preceded in death by: Daughter in law, Kim Lutz; Brothers: Robert and James Smith; Sister, Phyllis Hollis.
